Today I will be reviewing Suave Naturals Rainforest Fresh Conditioner. It retails for about $2.30 for a 32 ounce bottle.

In case you don’t know, I love Suave conditioners. They’re economical, make my hair happy and have so many cute varieties with awesome fragrances (I used to be obsessed with the Green Apple conditioner and now love the Aloe and Waterlily, which I reviewed HERE). The Tropical Coconut conditioner is usually my go to Suave conditioner since it has Vitamin E and silk amino acids, but when I saw the Rainforest Fresh, I couldn’t resist picking it up.

What really interested me about this conditioner was the bamboo extract. Bamboo is known for its strength and every conditioner I’ve seem with bamboo extract claims to strengthen the hair, so I was curious to see how this conditioner would fare. I was actually going to try Silicon Mix Bambú just to see what affect the bamboo extract would have on my hair, but im glad I found this one first. Since I only use silicones when straightening and I won’t be straightening until sometime next Spring, I knew I would barely use the Silicon Mix (seriously, I haven’t even finished my Proteina de Perla conditioner or leave in yet). Besides I figured if the bamboo extract were to have any effect on my hair, I would notice it sooner with this conditioner since I cowash more often than not.

The ingredients…no real standouts aside from the bamboo and aloe vera extracts

The conditioner has a nice thick consistency and actually smells like a rainforest. I applied this conditioner to slightly damp hair and left it on for 15 minutes under a plastic cap. As I applied the conditioner immediately softened my hair and my hair was soft, moisturized and happy after rinsing. My hair didn’t feel any stronger than usual but I’ll keep an eye on how my hair feels after a few more uses.

So overall I like this conditioner and, although it is pretty average as far as conditioners go, would recommend it. It is excellent for cowashing or prepoos, especially if you choose to doctor it up with oils like I do. Before I finish, I’d like to wish a Happy Thanksgiving in advance to all the American readers! May your day be filled with good food and good times with your loved ones 🙂
