Today I’m back with two firsts for 2016 – my first sugar scrub of the year and my first lip scrub recipe! You guys already know that I love sugar scrubs -they’re cheap, easy to make and make my skin feel and look great. While browsing Pinterest, I came across the prettiest pink lip scrub and my interest in lip scrubs was immediately piqued. (more…)
So since I just did a list of my favorite hair products of 2015, I figured it was time to do a post for my favorite beauty products of 2015!When I first thought of compiling a list of my favorite products, I really didn’t think I would need one specifically for beauty. But towards the end of this year, my interest in skincare and, to a lesser extent, nails has really been growing while my interest in haircare has been stagnant. It’s not to say that hair topics bore me, it’s just that this is the time of year where I keep my hair hidden in braids, so there isn’t really much to discuss in terms of hair. While haircare will always be a topic on this blog, there will definitely be more beauty posts (skincare/nails/makeup) in 2016 🙂
Today I will be reviewing two of the Jordana Easyliner Retractable Pencils in the shades “Rock and Rose” and “Tawny”. I got them from my local Walgreens for $2.99 each. This review is a bit different for me because, since I don’t wear lipstick often, I don’t really use lip liner. I have a few lip liners to match my dark lip colors and one or two that match my skin color, but that’s it.
After finishing my previous sugar scrub, I knew I had to make another one. These scrubs are so cheap, easy to make and use items most people already have on hand. I also love the fact that I can control what goes into the scrub and use all natural ingredients; I really cannot see myself buying a sugar scrub again. When deciding on my next scrub, I knew I wanted something with fresh ingredients for their nutrients and that was season appropriate. With October here, pumpkin flavored anything is everywhere so I just knew that I had to incorporate pumpkin somehow and this scrub was born.
I feel like I’m on a kick with these makeup reviews 🙂 Today I will be reviewing two products from NYC Smooth Skin Line: the 2 in 1 Compact Foundation and Concealer and the 5 in 1 Instant Matte BB Creme. Both can be purchased from New York Color’s website for $3.99 or at your local Walmart for about $3.50. I was interested in trying these because, aside from my Smooth Skin Transluscent Powder (which is awesome by the way), I haven’t used NYC products in years. While browsing their website, I was pleasantly surprised to see that they had really stepped their game up. I remember a few years ago when their only skin products were the bronzers (which were my favorites) and a few cheapie concealers; now they have a large variety of BB creams, pressed powders and foundations. So let’s get to the reviews!
